Spring is the season of rebirth. This year the spring has been delayed so I delayed putting out this post until the weather got more spring-like. During the season of Spring, the snow turns into rain, the leaves turn into flowers, and the cold turns into warmth. You can use this seasonal transition as a transition to also benefit yourself. A renewal and rebirth in your life can benefit you in so many ways. Out with the old and in with the new. Starting a new foundation for yourself and your life can help you start fresh with a clear mind and a clear heart. You can essentially “spring clean” your life. Here are some helpful tips on how to start fresh this season!
• Clean- It’s true, regular cleaning and organizing your room/home is good for the mind, body and soul. The mental and health benefits of a clean environment can renew energy within and help improve your mood. Also when a space is cluttered, it can make our thinking cluttered. Now is a great time to get the house in order.
• Learn to Love Yourself- Confidence is key (and it’s attractive)! Use a rebirth in your life to your own personal advantage. Taking time out of your day to stand in front of the mirror, and say what you love about yourself, can enhance your mood immensely! Doing Positive affirmations can greatly impact how you view yourself as well. Take more time to do the things that YOU want to do, not things that someone else may tell you to do. Loving yourself is key to living a fulfilling life. If you can’t love yourself, how do you expect others to love you?
• Gratitude Journaling- Keeping a gratitude journal is a great habit to start picking up. Journaling daily about the things you are grateful for can help you be more mindful of the people and occurrences in life and to always be thankful and grateful. Even if you cant journal, take the time each day to think about 5+ things you are grateful for. The more you can think of new things the better!
• Positive Thinking- Changing your mindset is always a beneficial change. Being more positive in situations rather than negative can help alleviate a lot of stress and anxiety. Our perspective is everything and when we view things with some optimism they tend to become easier to swallow.
• Exercise Regularly- Physical activity is a great way to improve your quality of life. It increases endorphins, which are “feel good” hormones. They will naturally increase your mood. So whether it is going to the gym or just walking more outside in the nice weather, work on integrating exercise into your life more. It will only make you feel better about everything!
