Failure should be worn as a badge of honor. When one does not succeed in something that they have set their mind on, it may seem as though it is the end of the world, but in reality, it isn’t. In fact, it is but a bump in the road. Acceptance is vitally important when it comes to coping with a failure or a setback that comes along in life. Although there are ways of making the process easier for you to deal with, it still HAS to be dealt with. If you don’t deal with it, it can become like a monkey on your back in life and you can create a story for your life based on it. Saying things like “I have failed” or “ I am stupid” or “Everyone else did it so how did I Fail”, these thoughts will not help you come to terms with what has happened, you must stay positive, sit back and reflect on the situation. You can think about what you could have done to make it better, then go back and try again with a more positive mindset. Look at your failures as learning experiences, learning can never be a bad thing, and as long as you do not let it bring you down then you can learn from the experience and move on to do bigger and better things.
Staying in good spirits has to be one of the most challenging parts of dealing with a failure but you can do it, think positive and positive things will happen for you. A failure is nothing but a setback, but maybe that setback is what you needed to make you rethink things and look at it through a different light. If you believe everything happens for a reason and if you are a believer in a higher power, then you know that each and every one has a path that has been paved for them individually. Now some paths may have cracks in them, and may have bumps in them, but in the end you will end up where you are meant to end up, the path does not end once you hit that bump it merely gives you a chance to stop and rethink things. Positive reframing is a technique that you can use during your coping process, and it basically allows you to change your perspective to be more positive, instead of dwelling on what you have failed in. Why not just focus on what you can do to make the situation better?
When you accept that you have in fact failed at something, but that it is not the end of the world and that is when you can begin to reframe your perspective and turn that negative view into a positive. After accepting the facts, you can set some goals for yourself, but preferably positive goals. They can be long term or short term as long as they are aimed at making the situation better then it was before. Keep in mind that it could always be worse and that there are people out there who have it worse than you do. This can remind you to be humble and motivate you to keep going. Use every failure as fuel to light that fire inside of you, and go out there and try again until you succeed.
